Independent Medical Examinations in New Jersey

WMC accepts independent medical examination referrals for matters venued in New Jersey. Examinations are performed by Jesse Wolstein, M.D., a board-certified emergency physician.

What the examination involves

Before the examination, Dr. Wolstein reviews the records relevant to the questions counsel has defined. The examination itself is an in-person physician evaluation. Afterward he prepares a written report of his findings and opinions within the agreed scope.

WMC accepts examinations only where the questions fall within Dr. Wolstein's expertise in emergency medicine. If a matter needs a different specialty, WMC will say so at intake.

Scheduling and arrangements

WMC's staff coordinate the examination date with counsel, confirm the examinee's arrangements, and make sure the relevant records are in hand beforehand. The examination location and arrangements are confirmed in writing when the examination is scheduled.

What to send first

Start with the referral form: the parties, the jurisdiction, the deadline and the questions you need answered. Please do not send records until WMC confirms scope and conflicts; you will then receive a secure way to provide them.
